How does it work?
HA is a naturally occurring compound in the body. It is the soft and supportive material found in cartilage. As we age, our faces lose fat and our skin thins, causing wrinkles and hollowing of the face. Restylane/ Perlane replace this lost fat and collagen, restoring fullness and youthfulness to your face. In addition to the HA, Restylane and Perlane have an anesthetic, lidocaine, mixed in to minimize any discomfort during the injection process. Results from Restylane/ Perlane can last up to a year. One of the safety features of Restylane/ Perlane is that their effects can be reversed with the injection of an enzyme to break down the filler.
What does it treat?
Restylane/ Perlane can be used anywhere on the face to treat fine lines and wrinkles. The most common areas are the nasolabial folds (lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth). Second to the eyes, the mouth is often the center of attention. It is also particularly exposed to aging. Restylane/Perlane can be used to restore lost volume, smooth out wrinkles or simply to rehydrate the lips. Restylane/Perlane add temporary volume to facial hollows and to mask the appearance of undereye bags and tear trough deformity.
