Fractora Applications
Fractora has two applications. There is an external handpiece that glides over the skin delivering radiofrequency energy, and there is also a fractional handpiece that delivers radiofrequency through microneedles that pierce the skin.
Micro-needling is based on the use of tiny needles to create micro-channels (tiny holes) in the skin. The nature of radiofrequency delivery means energy is released from one needlepoint and will connect with another needlepoint at a certain distance within the skin. The process stimulates your skin’s natural ability to heal itself and in the process produces collagen and elastin for skin tightening and rejuvenation. By delivering radio frequency through the microneedles, Fractora essentially shrink wraps the skin through tissue tightening. Fractora micro-needling is especially effective on deep lines around the mouth and eyes and for heavily sun-damaged skin.
This Fractora application is more intense and there is some downtime associated with the procedure. Redness and swelling can be expected for a few days to one-week post-procedure.
Skin Rejuvenation
For patients who do not want treatment downtime, the benefits of radiofrequency can still be achieved with Fractora skin rejuvenation. Using just the external Fractora handpiece without the microneedles, skin tone, texture and firmness all will improve, but repeated treatments are recommended.
