What is fractional CO2 laser technology?
High-energy, short-pulsed carbon dioxide laser CO2 technology creates a precise wound by means of thin layer ablation and controlled dermal coagulation, with a predictable zone of residual thermal damage. Clinically, there is global improvement in the appearance of the skin, with a reduction in solar lentigines (sun spots), actinic keratoses and rhytids (wrinkles), and an improvement in overall pigmentation and skin tone.
The carbon dioxide (CO2) laser precisely and evenly ablates the surface of the skin, layer by layer, permitting clear definition of landmarks and optimal depth control—a valuable tool for treating a range of aesthetic conditions, including wrinkles, aging or tired eyelids and acne scarring.
The laser treats the skin using a fractional pattern similar to “pixels” on a TV screen. This pattern leaves small bridges of untouched skin in between the laser spots. These small untouched areas promote rapid healing of the treated areas with new collagen production and resurfacing of surface irregularities, blemishes, and pigment abnormalities.
Active FX
ActiveFX is the latest fractional laser treatment for pigmentation and fine lines that yields remarkable results with minimal downtime.
This fractional laser treatment uses a high-energy beam of laser light that interacts with the skin's surface causing the upper layer to peel off and regenerate a layer of new, healthy skin. The laser beam is applied in a fractional pattern, leaving small "bridges" of untouched skin. This technique makes the healing process much faster and enables you to get back to normal activities sooner than most facial rejuvenation treatments.
Your Results with ActiveFX
ActiveFX produces a dramatic effect on sun-damaged and wrinkled skin. It causes immediate collagen contraction and reduces wrinkles, fine lines, and softens deeper frown lines. The laser treatment stimulates new collagen formation and plumps the skin. Patients get noticeably improved skin tone and skin texture with just one single treatment.
DeepFX
DeepFX is a revolutionary fractional laser treatment for aged, sun-damaged or scarred skin and deep wrinkles. Remarkable results with minimal downtime are achieved with fractional CO2 laser microbeams that precisely target the deep dermal layers of the skin. Each laser pulse removes a narrow column of tissue while simultaneously treating surrounding skin. This stimulates a cascade of healing responses that leads to tissue regeneration and new collagen formation throughout the entire treatment area. Only a fraction of the skin is actually touched by the laser, which reduces the healing time to just a few days.
Your Results with DeepFX
DeepFX procedures involve treating only a fraction of the skin's surface, leaving bridges of untouched skin to aid in the regeneration process. The laser pulse causes a deep heating, which causes immediate collagen contraction and long-term collagen remodeling. You will notice immediate softening and smoothing of wrinkles, fine lines and scars, and improved skin texture as the skin heals from the treatment. In addition, the skin responds by stimulating organic growth of new collagen that continues for up to six months. After a single treatment with minimal downtime, results of improved wrinkles, texture, skin tone and scars are long-lasting and with proper skin care can last for many years.
The DeepFX fractional laser procedure is commonly used on the face, around the lips and eyelids, crows feet, the neck, upper chest, hands and arms.
DeepFX is safe for most people. However, it should not be used if you have taken Accutane in the past 12 months, have a history of keloid formation, have a history of poor wound healing, or demonstrate excessive or unusually prolonged erytherma, hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation upon laser test patching. Request a consultation to ask if DeepFX is right for you.
TotalFX
The TotalFX combines ActiveFX and DeepFX into one treatment. Get the combined effects of both the ActiveFX and DeepFX, resulting in the most complete skin rejuvenating treatment available. Call to schedule your consultation to determine if this treatment is for you.
